About Gourmet India

Gourmet India has opened its doors in May 2006, on Fourth Avenue next to Horton Plaza in the Gaslamp District; Gourmet India is tucked into the street level of a larger building like so many other restaurants in downtown San Diego.  A large flat screen projecting Bollywood films, surrounded by peacock feathers, deep red draperies and walls to match, jeweled candle holders and handpicked dishes accompanied by soothing music from around the world. For people who want a memorable experience they all find what they are looking for here. For the adventurous types who want to relax into throw pillows and maroon silk cushions can sit on traditional Indian floor level seating, where the food feels like a journey to the Motherland.

Now on our fifth year, Gourmet India continues to signify the tradition of fine dining. Our goal is and has always been to push the boundaries of authentic Indian cuisine – without compromise. The delectable food, the well paired wines, cocktails and exotic beers are sure to indulge anyone’s senses.
